The true story of the Lehman brothers and their rise (and fall) of the financial institution that played a major role in Global Economic Crisis of 2007-2008 has been extended through April 14th at the Arden Theatre Company. The riveting performance stormed stages on the West End, Broadway and has been translated into 24 languages – it’s a must-see and one that will stick with you for a long time.

The Lehman Trilogy begins in 1844 when the first of the three brothers immigrates to the United States from Bavaria. From textiles to cotton, to coffee and a move to New York City, from a transition to investment banking and the crash of their foundation that was thought to be “too big to fail”, this is the story of the unthinkable. And it’s done so well.

This play is more “tell” than “show”, with a simple set and three actors transforming into more than 50 characters, with only their storytelling skills at the spotlight. It’s an amazing, and very wordy, feat with a trio of performances by local stars Scott Greer, Charlie DelMarcelle, and Akeem Davis, bringing the Lehman brothers, family members and colleagues to life.

The runtime on The Lehman Trilogy is a fast, gripping three hours (with two intermissions). Note that because of the length, performances will start earlier than usual (1pm matinees and 7pm evenings). Check out tickets and info here.
