Uptown Beer Garden Transforms Into A Summer Oasis with Tiki-Themed Expansion, Orange Crush Bar and More

Uptown Beer Garden, Philadelphia’s pioneering and premier beer garden for nearly two decades, has officially commenced for the spring and summer season complete with a brand-new, tropical paradise-themed concept dubbed Kedera Tiki Bar, featuring themed décor, ample seating, full-service Orange Crush Bar, new food menu, zero-proof sippers, frozen tipples, and more.

Philadelphia’s leading beer garden goes bigger and better for the 2024 season with the addition of the Kedera Tiki Bar. This spacious and inviting portion of the garden holds up to 120 guests seated, with total capacity of 150, in addition to two full-service bars, swing seating, and plenty of greenery and mature, large-scale potted palm trees.

“For 2024, we wanted to create a space that felt like a true tropical oasis for our guests smack in the heart of downtown Philadelphia,” said Teddy Sourias, President of Craft Concepts Group. “We’re excited for new and returning guests to experience all things new here at Uptown Beer Garden – from the tiki bar to the food and drinks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this summer.”

Highlights from Uptown Beer Garden’s extensive beverage menu includes a variety of domestic and local craft brews in cans and drafts, wines, ciders and seltzers, frozen sippers such as Frozo Espresso (Skyy Espresso Vodka, cold brew, coffee liqueur, simple); Not Your Mama’s Daiquiri (Bacardí Rum, lime, simple, strawberry purée); and Gettin’ Twisted (Twisted Tea, whiskey, lemonade). Some of the signature cocktails include:

• The Refresh Button – Ketel One Botanical Cucumber Mint, elderflower liqueur, champagne, club soda, cucumber, mint
• Uptown Vibes – Santa Familia Reposado, blood orange juice, hibiscus syrup, lime, orange
• Wooder Ice – Absolute Raspberri, blue curacao, lime, simple
•  Island Spice – Ancho Reyes Verde Liqueur, pineapple, lime, simple
• Purple Sunset – Roku Gin, lavender rosemary syrup, lemon, club soda, butterfly pea flower tea
• Peachy Keen – Jim Beam Peach Whiskey, peach purée, lemon, simple, iced tea

In addition to a vast selection of seasonal libations, Uptown Beer Garden boasts an assortment of small plates, tacos, and starters such as Fish & Chips (breaded haddock fried, served with fries); Buffalo Chicken Sliders (shredded chicken breast, buffalo sauce, lettuce, side of ranch or blue cheese); Soft Pretzel; Boardwalk Fries; Veggie Tacos (sautéed eggplant, squash & onion, lettuce, pico de gallo, vegan avocado crema, spicy chipotle sauce); and Pulled Pork Tacos (braised pulled pork, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, vegan avocado crema, spicy chipotle sauce).

The grand opening of Uptown Beer Garden and new Kedera Tiki Bar comes just weeks prior to the annual launch of Center City SIPS on Wednesday, June 5. One of the most coveted locales throughout the entirety of SIPS, Uptown Beer Garden will offer imbibers $7 cocktails, $6 wine, $5 beer and half-priced appetizers from 5pm – 7pm every Wednesday through August 28.

Uptown Beer Garden operates Monday through Friday beginning at 4pm and Saturday and Sunday beginning at 12pm, with happy hour Monday through Friday from 4pm – 6pm.
